I absolutely love your content and Gold and Bone is no exception and i was wondering if i could make a ttrpg system based off of Gold and Bone (once its got more lore of course) for me and my homies to play, i know since im not publishing it or anything i dont have to ask but i just wanna make sure its okay with you

Golden Boner?

An interesting idea for this setting would be homunculi and artificial ornata. What if some alchemist who's figured out the (potentially forbidden) art of growing humans in a jar starts to ponder "what if I add gold to this mix?" sees that the gold actually gets absorbed into the skeleton, and then doubles down and thinks "just how much gold can I stuff in this thing? Can I coat _their entire skeleton_ in gold?"

Do i remember correctly that this is a DnD thing? If so are there other species like Elves, Dwarves and Orcs? If so, do they also need to use gold or are they able to surpass the need, and how?

What happens when someone has native gold implanted at a younger age? Would the native gold grow with their body as it acts akin to bone, or would there be other effects?

Hm, enchantments require vitae, will, and gold. Perhaps the enchantments within Ornata are so powerful due to the abundance of these? Vitae requires living things to be made, and here the enchantment is _inside_ of a living thing. Will is imbued by the enchanters, but perhaps the will of the Ornata can add to this? And gold is generally used sparingly, so perhaps having an entire patch of skeleton worth of gold make it stronger also Or I'm just wrong, which - let's be real - is more likely, but it's still interesting to think about 🤔

Okay but hear me out: an Omata with a particularly long golden bone, such as their shin bone, would be particularly valuable; Since native gold is as strong as bone, and bone has been used for tools and weapons historically, it stands to reason that a golden shin could be used as a weapon, perhaps forged into a sword. Just some food for thought when designing those who hunt the Omata.

I love this series so much! The magic system is so interesting and makes me just want to find out more about it! A question tho, how many percent of people would you say have gold in their skeletons? Love the video's!

I used to use to draw a lot to visualize my imagination, but lately it's just been lacking to a point where I haven't been able to enjoy drawing something meaningful for almost 12 years. Guess life just does that to you sometimes. Anyway, the world you are creating here kind of gave me some fuel to pick up drawing again and I just wanted to thank you for that. Keep up the great work, I love this series.

Man I love this world so much. You've got such amazing ideas and your storytelling is great and so immersive. Hearing you talk about it fills my head with so many questions and ideas for your world. And I love your art and designs too! If you don't mind answering I'm curious about how you learned all this and your approach to worldbuilding and coming up with ideas. Since I'd love to make my own project too. Do you have any formal art or creative writing education? If not how did you learn art and learn to tell stories so well? Also how did you come up with your idea for Gold and Bone? And finally what's your approach to research? Your world feels very grounded in reality so I imagine you did a lot of research on historical cultures, professions, clothing etc. Do you buy books or just search the internet or? As well as how and where do you find such great references for your designs? Like clothing and more. And how do you choose which to use. Do you have a time period you pull from? Sorry for all this questions haha.

As soon as you described Wardens I was reminded of Guardians from Broken Earth built to keep that world's magic users (Orogenes) in check. And already my mind is racing from the Ornatas and Wardens dynamics. Here's hoping it's more mutually beneficial than it was in Broken Earth. Can't wait to see what you do next!

No but an anthology of this would go so hard, like, the possibilities of unique characters and stories spanning over decades in this world are endless. I just adore everything about this. Almost makes me want to write fan fiction lol

Despite the clear and easy to imagine potential for something like combat, i can't help but to imagine huge villages centered around the study of magic. a sort of monastic pseudo college, in place for the sake of quick and dirty solutions to some of the problems of nobility or, more likely, the military. very beautiful very powerful

one thing that could be interesting is if an increase, decrease, plateau, or stagnation in Ornata births is (or at least speculated to be) a symbol of the end of times or an oncoming plague etc. this could impact religions in a few cool ways

Question? Are elemental magics possible in aome ornata? Such as someone with gold at their fingertips being able to summon flames, gold at their throats being able to steal the breath from others, or ornata with bare golden feet being able to cause quakes or ride the very stone as if it were a steed? My mind is positivly buzzing with ideas. A person with a golden jaw bone might be able to not be affected by poisons, or be able to speak enchanting persuasive words. A golden spine could grant immense strength and speed. A golden skull piece could impart great memory and iq, or possibly mind reading. This is an immensely impressive, creative world you have made.

I love the sheer amount of lore every episode, and the drawings are amazing.

I wonder if there has ever been an alchemist or merchant who wanted to create a full skeleton of gold by buying or even "collecting" bones from living and dead Ornata. Since Ornata have been tied to many different religions, would there ever be a fanatic who thought something might happen if they brought together completely golden bones to make a whole person?

Personally, I think it's likely that the Ornata's body *is* the runework in some way, hence why it still needs to be enchanted.

Watching through this series, I REALLY want to play/GM a ttrpg in this world. I imagine three main class types: Ornata, Alchemists and... well, I'm not sure what normal people would be called, but those would include the Beshat as well as gun users. It would probably be more of a narrative-focused system because the magic system has so much out-of-combat utility that it just makes sense. If I ever decide to learn how to make a ttrpg and you haven't made one yet, I'm for SURE coming back to this channel. EDIT: I would ask you if I ever did of course, but then again it's unlikely.
